The Family/Parish life committee would like to invite you to a coffee hour after the 10 am Mass on Oct 3rd. Light refreshments will be served. It has been a while since we have been able to meet in person at church. Let’s catch up, meet new members and get reacquainted with old friends. We hope to see you there!
In honor of the Labor Day weekend, the parish office will be closed on Monday, Sept. 6. The staff wishes everyone a safe, healthy, holiday weekend filled with many blessings.
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Fredrich Hoehn, of our parish, who passed away the end of August. We also pray that God will give strength and peace to his family during this difficult time.
We pray for everyone returning to school in the upcoming days:
Spirit of God, help those returning to school to know what is pleasing to you and to understand what is right and good in your sight. Give them the spirit of learning and guide them in their good work. Help them to be effective witnesses of your truth and
Grant them your constant encouragement.
WELCOME EVELYN! We're happy to welcome and congratulate Evelyn Hurley on her baptism into the church!Evelyn's's parents are Brittany and Jason Hurley and her Godparents are Brooke Hackbarth and Brandon Hackbarth.May God bless you and your family, Evelyn!
Anyone who has paid for a subscription for the Living with Christ books can pick up their September issue in the front entrance of the church.
The September Liturgical Minister schedule has been sent out. Anyone who needs a hardcopy can find them outside the sacristy.
A reminder to all liturgical ministers: We are no longer using the Ministry program for scheduling. Please contact Mary in the office when you need a sub and Jeff Small (misterchaos@gmail.com) with all other scheduling needs.
Attention Liturgical Ministers A while ago, Jeff Small sent an email to all liturgical ministers asking to update their status. Thank you to all who responded. However, we still need to hear from others. If you have not already responded, please email Jeff Small (misterchaos@gmail.com) of your current status: active, inactive, or remove from list, as soon as possible. This information will help to update the roster as well as facilitate scheduling. Again, thank you for your attention to this matter.
Once again, we are in need of a reliable part-time maintenance person. For more details, contact the parish office at 594 – 1400 or e-mail Mary, the parish secretary, at Mary.Lionetti@dor.org.

SAVE THE DATE:
We will be having a Ministry Day on Saturday, October 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Liturgical ministers will have the opportunity to renew their commitment to their ministry(ies). Also, essential information will be shared. This is always a special day for Liturgical Ministers and we look forward to seeing everyone there. More details will follow.
We welcome back and are very grateful to all liturgical ministers who have requested to be put back on the active list since returning to Mass. Please remember, however that completing the Diocesan required SAFE training and background check is a MUST AND PREREQUISITE TO BEING SCHEDULED FOR SERVICE. This includes lectors, Eucharistic ministers, hospitality ministers, sacristans, musicians, and anyone who sings in a choir/group. Please call the parish office if you have any questions.
A reminder from the parish office: If you receive an e-mail from Fr. Mike or anyone on our staff, it will have the dor e-mail address. If it doesn’t, please do not open it.
Due to lack of attendance, there will be no Mass on Monday mornings, until further notice.
We are so happy to see more people returning to Mass. The business office would like to remind those of you using contribution envelopes of two very important things to ensure your contribution is documented accurately if you are using contribution envelopes:
Please remember to fill in the amount of your contribution on each envelope used so it can be documented correctly.
Also, please refrain from combining offerings for specials collections such as maintenance, second collections, etc.) with your regular Sunday collection as it causes many problematic issues for counting and documenting your contribution.
Feel free to contact Mary in the business office with any questions.
Does the parish office have all your current contact information? We have been informed the post office may be adjusting some people’s mailing address. If your address is affected by this, please be sure to let the office know. Or, if you have changed your address, e-mail, or phone number in the past year, contact Mary to be sure it's been updated.

Be Heart-Healthy!
It does our hearts good to stretch! As the summer sun and the lifting of many of our COVID restrictions free us to breathe more freely and feel lighter, we invite you to share that freedom. Many of us are frequent drivers -- having the freedom to go anywhere, most anytime. Freedom to do the simple, but necessary things…like a stop at the pharmacy…a visit to the doctor…a trip to the grocery store.
Others can no longer drive, and this is a significant problem for many of our neighbors. Yet they still need to shop, and they have appointments. They could use a lift – an outreach from us – a heart-stretch.
If you have a couple of hours a week, or even a couple of hours a month, consider being a volunteer driver. You can select your geographic area and the times you wish to drive. You will be provided with training, and supplemental accident and liability insurance.
Give your heart a good stretch! Be a little kinder than necessary!
To learn more about becoming a volunteer driver, call Sr. Anne Guerin at 244-8400, ext. 142, or email, aguerin@lifespan-roch.org
Parents, we now have a bin filled with fun and exciting books in the front entrance of the church for our young parishioners. Feel free to pick out a book for your child to look at if and when he/she becomes restless during Mass. These are books for your child to keep. PLEASE DO NOT RETURN THEM TO THE BIN.
To ensure a prayerful atmosphere during Mass, please do not bring your cell phone into church with you. If you feel you must, please be sure your phone is turned off.
NOTES FROM THE PARISH OFFICE
In order to keep our sick list updated, please notify us if a family member is ill, in the hospital, or has died. Thank you! nstchris@dor.org or 594 – 1400 ext. 100.

EUCHARIA MINISTRY NEWS
We pay tribute this Monday, Labor Day, to our American Workers, the creators of so much of our nation’s strength, freedom, and leadership.
We were very busy this summer and delivered two large bags of lap blankets and Angel Baby blankets to the Little Button Craft Shop on South Avenue. The owner, Shelby, is also a nurse at Highland Hospital and will deliver them to the ICU and the NICU.
We also delivered three large boxes of baby hats, toddler hat/scarf sets, and child hat/scarf sets to Daystar Kids on Lac De Ville Blvd. Martha and Kim will distribute them to the children and their siblings this Fall just before the cold weather arrives.
Please note that we will resume our Saturday gatherings beginning this month. The next 3 will be: September 18th/October 16th/November 20th from 10am to noon in the Faith Formation Building. Please mark your calendars. Masks will be worn.
